Box Score 2 HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Thiel College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Saint Vincent College and #20 ranked Juniata College on Saturday.
In the first match against Saint Vincent, the Tomcats battled hard but lost the match in five sets (25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 15-25, 10-15).
Freshman Alannah Keisling (Englewood, Fla./Lemon Bay) had 10 kills and nine digs, while teammate
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) came close to her first triple-double, finishing the match with eight kills, 16 assists and 12 digs.
Lauren Richey (Harmarville, PA/Springdale) and Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) each added eight and five kills, respectively.
Heather Reichenback (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) chipped in a season-best 31 digs from her libero position and
freshman Jennifer Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) notched 16 assists.
In the second match of the evening, the Tomcats fell to Juniata 3-0 (15-25, 13-25, 20-25). Once again, Keisling led the team in kills with five while Richey and
Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) each finished with four.
Reichenback tallied a team-high eight digs for the Tomcats while Hall and Keisling each had seven. Hall also totaled nine assists.
The Tomcats will play their 2013 home opener on Sept. 11, when they host Grove City College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
