Box Score The Thiel College women's volleyball squad fell to the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes 3-0 Wednesday evening in the Beeghly Gymnasium by set scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-23.
Lauren Richey (Harmarville, PA/Springdale) paced the Tomcats, finishing the match with 10 kills and two digs. It is the second time this season that Richey has recorded double-digit kills. Junior
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) tallied six kills, 12 assists and 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season while freshman
Alannah Keisling (Englewood, Fla./Lemon Bay) added seven kills.
As a team, the Tomcats had six total blocks, including six block assists by senior
Leanna Yeager (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary).
Defensively,
sophomore libero Heather Reichenback (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) led Thiel with 13 digs and
Jennifer Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) helped Hall pilot the offense with 11 assists and 10 digs.
The Golden Tornadoes' Grace Hayes finished with nine kills to pace the Geneva attack.
Thiel will next travel to Bethany, W.Va. on Saturday to take on the Bethany College Bison and the Saint Vincent Colllege Bearcats. The first match of the scheduled tri-match begins at 11 a.m.
