Tomcats can’t overcome slow start against Ladies

Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Tomcat women's lacrosse team had a slow start against the Ladies of Kenyon College Saturday and went on to suffer a 16-7 loss at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
 
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) paced the Tomcats with three goals on four shots and also added an assist. She also went 2-for-2 in free position attempts. Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) also had a multi-goal game with two goals on three shots.
 
Freshman Beth Snider (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) and sophomore Kelly Bellia each added a goal apiece while Snider also recorded an assist to her total. In goal for the Tomcats, Asia Wallace (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) made 11 saves in the second half.
 
Emily Nichols scored five goals on seven shots and added an assist for the Ladies. Leah Sack scored three goals to go along with six assists. Alex Blair scored four goals and notched an assist while earning four draw controls. Goalkeeper Meredith Bensten stopped six shots to earn the win.
 
The Tomcats (1-4) will be back in action Tuesday night at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome when they host the Purple Raiders of Mount Union College at 7 p.m.
