Hall records fourth triple-double in loss at Grove City

Tomcats fall to Wolverines, 3-1

Box Score GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team dropped their final road match of 2013 to Grove City, 3-1, in Presidents' Athletic Conference play Thursday.
 
The Tomcats (4-25, 4-13) raced out to an early 1-0 lead by claiming the first set, 26-24, and narrowly came back to win set two before falling 25-23. The Wolverines (15-13, 8-9) rebounded however, defeating Thiel 25-23 and 25-10 to close out the match.
 
Junior Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) continued to showcase her versatility on the court, recording her second-straight triple-double, as she finished the match with 10 kills, 21 assists and 22 digs. It is the fourth triple-double of the season for Hall. Junior Lauren Richey (Harmarville, PA/Springdale) and freshman Alannah Keisling (Englewood, Fla./Lemon Bay) were the main recipients of Hall's passes, recording nine and eight kills, respectively.
 
Five Tomcats recorded double-digit dig efforts, as sophomore libero Heather Reichenback (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) led the team with a season-best 33. Hall added 22, junior Lauren Downs (Mentor, OH/Mentor HS) chipped in 17, and freshmen Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) tallied 14.

Freshman Jennifer Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) was the fifth Tomcat in double-figures, notching her sixth double-double of the season with 12 digs and 13 assists.
 
The Tomcats return to Beeghly Gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 2, as Richey and Leanna Yeager (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) will be honored before Saturday's regular season finale as part of the 2013 senior day festivities. The Tomcats' match with the visiting Washington and Jefferson Presidents is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
