Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Thiel College women's volleyball team picked up its second Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win of 2013 by splitting a tri-match during Thiel's Homecoming. The Tomcats downed the Jackets 3-0 in the opening contest of the day, before falling to Westminster College 3-1.
The Tomcats (2-20, 2-7) took Waynesburg down (6-15, 1-8) by the set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-13 to score their second conference win of 2013. Junior
Lauren Richey (Harmarville, PA/Springdale) led the Thiel offense with a match-high 10 kills, while freshman
Alannah Keisling (Englewood, Fla./Lemon Bay) chipped in six successful attacks. Junior setter
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) helped out the Tomcat attack with a match-high 20 assists. Freshman
Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) also led the Tomcat defense with 16 digs.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as well for Thiel during match two on the day, as they couldn't get past the Titans (20-6, 8-4), who picked up a 25-14, 25-12, 10-25, 25-19 triumph. Boyer and Keisling put down seven and six kills, respectively, while sophomore
Heather Reichenback (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) racked up 20 digs in the loss.
Jennifer Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) set the team mark for assists with 14.
The Tomcats are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 15 when they host Thomas More College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
