GROVE CITY, Pa. – The women's volleyball team posted a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victories Saturday in Grove City, downing the host Wolverines 3-0 before recording a 3-0 victory against Waynesburg.
Thiel (2-4, 2-0) earned game wins of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-17 against Grove City.
Molly Gamble (Van Wert, Ohio/Van Wert) tallied a team-high 13 kills while
Alyssa Chine (North Jackson, Ohio/Jackson Milton) added eight kills and 11 digs.
Kelly Barzak (Warren, Ohio/Howland) added six kills, while Chelsea Meister (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) handed out 37 assist to go along with her six digs. The Tomcats managed 13.0 team blocks in the win.
Led by
Lauren Yeager, who finished with a match-high nine kills, the Tomcats dispatched Wanesburg 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, and 25-11) in their second match of the afternoon.
Chine and
Megg Andrews (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) each added four kills while
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) finished with 10 digs in the three-set win.
Chelsea Meister (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) contributed 30 assists while the team recorded seven blocks in the win.
Thiel will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on LaRoche College for a 7 p.m. match.
