W&J Defeats Men's Lacrosse 21-4

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Tomcat men's lacrosse program was dealt a 21-4 loss at the hands of Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday night in Washington, Pa.

Thiel was led by two goals from Andrew Shaver (Liverpool, N.Y./West Genesee) and a goal apiece by Carmen Papa (Salamanca, N.Y./Salamanca Central) and Jacob Paviol (Falls Village, Conn./Housatonic Valley Regional). The Presidents saw six goals apiece scored by Mark Ringeling and Andrew Wallick, and a five goal performance by Tim Angell.

W & J got on the board first in the first quarter with three straight goals in the first five minutes before Paviol notched the first score for the Tomcats to make the score 3-1. After the Paviol goal, the Presidents put the game out of reach in the first half going on a 9-1 run to make the score 12-2 at halftime. W & J would then outscore the Tomcats 9-2 in the second half to finish the scoring at 21-4.

The Tomcats will compete in their final game of the season on Saturday April 21 when they take on the Otterbein Cardinals. The contest at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
