GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Thiel College volleyball team won for the seventh time in eight matches, improving to 10-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 sweep of the Grove City Wolverines on Tuesday night.
The Tomcats won by the set scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-23, improving their overall record to 16-6. Thiel posted
Alyssa Chine (North Jackson, Ohio/Jackson Milton) had a double-double, posting team-highs of 11 kills and 10 digs, while
Molly Gamble (Van Wert, Ohio/Van Wert) chipped in seven kills and
Kelly Barzak (Warren, Ohio/Howland) added six kills, five digs and two blocks.
Chelsea Meister (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) led the team with 17 assists and contributed eight digs, while
Stephanie Day (Millersburg, Ohio/Waynedale) had 13 assists, five digs and three service aces.
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) also had two assists and seven digs in the win.
Thiel will be back in action on Thursday, when they host Washington and Jefferson for a PAC showdown. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
