WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Thiel's
Kayla Langer (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) finished 17th while
Emily Friedrich (West Middlesex, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) was 19th at the 2011 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Fall Golf Invitational, hosted by Oak Tree Country Club.
Competing individually for the Tomcats, Langer posted a Tuesday score of 109 after carding a 109 on Monday for a two-day total of 218. Friedrich, who entered Tuesday 15th after Monday's round of 104, shot a 121 on Tuesday to finish with a two-day total of 225.
Westminster College earned the top team honor, finishing with a two-day score of 758 (381-377). Washington & Jefferson College was just two strokes back with a 760 (383-377) while Grove City College notched a third-place finish with a score of 783 (393-390).
Grove City's Esther Durling earned medalist honors at the Fall Invitational after her two-day score of 163 (81-82). W&J's Catherine Robinson (180-99-81) and Jennifer Suder (180-89-91) tied for second.
The 2011-12 PAC Women's Golf Championship is determined by a 72-hole total – 36 at the 2011 PAC Fall Invitational and 36 at the 2012 PAC Championship. The individual all-conference teams are determined exclusively by scores at the spring 36-hole PAC Championship.
The Tomcat men's and women's squads will host the first-ever Thiel Fall Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Greens of Greenville. The event is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.
