CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - Thiel's 
Ladell Trotty (Cleveland, Ohio, Lutheran East) had a near perfect night shooting and 
Devon Adams (Philadelphia, Pa., George Junior Republic) became just the eighth player in school history to surpass 1,000 points as the Tomcats bested homestanding Thomas More, 86-85, closing out the regular season atop the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Adams posted a double-double of 10 points and 12 assists. He now has 1,0001 points in his career, becoming the first Thiel player to reach that milestone since Joe Herrmann, who scored 1,520 points between 2004-08.
Trotty scored 21 points in just 17 minutes of action, hitting 10 of his 11 field goal attempts and his lone free throw attempt.
With the game tied 82-82- with 1:15 to play, Adams put the Tomcats ahead with a 3-pointer. 
Blair Rozenblad (Youngstown, Ohio, Kennedy Catholic) added a free throw with 18 seconds left, making Daniel Whelan's 3-pointer at the buzzer meaningless for the Saints.
Including Adams and Trotty, five players scored in double figures for the Tomcats. Rozenblad recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 15 points, bolstered by a 9-of-12 night at the line, and 11 rebounds. 
Aundra Jones (Youngstown, Ohio, Kennedy Catholic) finished with 16 points and five boards. 
Anthony Harvey (New Castle, Pa., New Castle) reached 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting. 
Whelan led all scorers with 23 points. Aaron Miller and Brian Muse scored 17 points apiece. Colt Stafford and Spencer Berlekamp scored 11 and 10, respectively. 
Thiel will enter the PAC playoffs as the top seed with an overall record of 18-6 and a conference mark of 13-1. The 18 overall wins are four more than last year while the 13 wins in the PAC is six more than last season.
The conference playoffs will begin on Tuesday with the Tomcats hosting the eighth-seeded team from the PAC. As the top seed, Thiel will host every game in the tournament as far as it advances. The semifinals will be on Thursday, Feb. 24 and the finals will take place Saturday, Feb. 26..
