The women's volleyball team traveled to Marietta, Ohio to compete against sixth-ranked Heidelberg College and Marietta College on Saturday afternoon.
The Tomcats fell to the ranked Student Princes in the first match of the afternoon 2-3 (16-25, 15-25, 25-22, 25-17, 8-15).
Alyssa Chine (North Jackson, Ohio/Jackson Milton) had 11 kills and 11 digs while teammate
Kelly Barzak (Warren, Ohio/Howland) added 11 kills.
Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) tallied 11 kills while
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) contributed 15 digs and
Courtney Angelo (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) finished with eight.
Chelsea Meister (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) totaled 30 assists in the first match and eight digs.
Against the Pioneers of Marietta, the Tomcats came out on top 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-20). Chine finished with 10 kills, Kay added nine kills and six digs while Barzak contributed 13 kills. Hall finished with12 digs while Angelo contributed nine.
Thiel next travels to Waynesburg Pa. to take on the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, October 25
th. Match is set to start at 7 pm.
