GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Thiel women's volleyball squad climbed back to a .500 record Thursday night with a sweep of Grove City, 25-14, 25-22, 25-13, in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

"The whole team looked great tonight. It's nice momentum going into a tournament weekend," Thiel coach Steve Brewer said.

Alyssa Chine (North Jackson, Ohio, Jackson-Milton ) topped the Tomcats (8-8, 4-3 PAC) with 12 kills and nine digs. Kelly Barzak (Warren, OH, Howland) finished with nine kills and three blocks and Madison Chylik (Valley View, Ohio, Cuyahoga Heights) tallied 29 assists and 15 digs.

The win over the Wolverines was just the second of six matches scheduled for the Tomcats this week. They will compete in the Purple and Gold Tournament at Nazareth this weekend, where they will play Nazareth and Geneseo State on Friday and Brockport State and Fredonia State on Saturday.

After this weekend's tournament, the remainder of Thiel's schedule consists of mostly conference matchups with nine of the final 12 matches coming against PAC opponents.
