Rozenblad Scores 30 in 80-60 Win Over Saint Vincent

Blair Rozenblad
GREENVILLE, Pa. — Blair Rozenblad (Youngstown, Ohio, Kennedy Catholic) matched a career high with 30 points and finished off a double-double with 13 rebounds as Thiel cruised to an 80-60 win over visiting Saint Vincent in the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

The double-double was the 12th of Rozenblad's career and the third in six games this season. He shot 11 of 17 from the floor and led the team defensively with four steals.

The Tomcats, who took the lead for good when Rozenblad's 3-pointer put them up 17-16 with 9:13 to play in the first half, improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. They are a perfect 4-0 against Division III opponents.

Unlike the first five games that saw Thiel finish with balanced scoring, this one was dominated by Rozenblad and Aundra Jones (Youngstown, Ohio, Kennedy Catholic), who finished with 20 points thanks to a 5-of-8 shooting night and a huge improvement at the line with a 10-for-12 mark. Jones' 10 rebounds gave him a double-double. Point guard Devon Adams (Philadelphia, Pa., George Junior Republic) did his part with nine assists and added nine points. Lance Randall (Canfield, Ohio, Ursuline) tallied 11 points and six rebounds and Alan George (Brunswick, Ohio, Saint Edward) came off the bench to contribute six points.

The Bearcats were paced by B.J. McGill with 20 points, although it came on 17 shots. Dennis Bassich and Isaac Turner also reached double-digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Tomcats continued to win the rebounding battle, finishing with 43 to Saint Vincent's 30.

Thiel has now won three straight games over Saint Vincent, including two wins over the Bearcats last season.
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday with a non-conference game against Geneva. That game is set for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
