BETHANY, W.Va. — The Thiel women's volleyball squad survived a scare from Bethany, taking the final two sets to win the Presidents' Athletic Conference match.
With the win, the Tomcats remained all alone in second place in the conference, one game ahead of Westminster and two games back of Thomas More.
Bethany came out strong, winning the first set 25-21, but the Tomcats evened the match with a 25-16 win in the second set. The Bison took a 2-1 advantage with a 25-17 win in the third set. With their backs to the wall, the Tomcats responded with 25-20 and 15-11 wins in the final two sets.
"It was a battle and Bethany came to play. We were up and down a bit throughout the match, but our defense really got us through," Thiel coach Steve Brewer said. "The girls played with heart and we were able to pull it out in the end."

Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) finished with nine kills and 24 digs while
