ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Thiel women's volleyball squad pushed its record to 2-0 Friday after posting a three-set (25-23, 25-18, 25-17) win over SUNY-Geneseo as the Tomcats' concluded day one of the Nazareth College Purple & Gold Invitational.
After the Tomcats (10-8) earned its four-set win over host Nazareth, they posted a three-set victory against Geneseo. Junior outside hitter
Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio, Liberty) finished with 10 kills and 15 digs while sophomore middle hitter
Kelly Barzak (Warren, Ohio, Howland)added nine kills. Freshman libero
Jenna Samsa (Rittman, Ohio, Wadsworth) finished with a team-best 17 digs in the win.
The Tomcats return to action on Saturday, October 2 when they take on Brockport State at noon and Fredonia State at 4 p.m. to conclude play at Nazareth's Purple & Gold Invitational.
