CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ken. – The Thiel football squad was dealt a 42-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss Saturday to the homestanding Saints of 11th-ranked Thomas More.
Thomas More (4-0, 2-0) finished the day with a 363-154 advantage in total yards, including a 223-75 edge in rushing yards. Domonique Hayden paced the Saints ground game with 101 yards on 12 carries, including a one-yard touchdown run with 7:28 remaining in the third period that give the Saints a 35-3 lead.
Kendall Owens chipped in with 36 yards on 10 carries, including a five-yard second-quarter touchdown, and added five catches for 122 yards, which included a 2-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Robert Kues with just over 11 minutes in the fourth quarter. Kues finished 8-of-13 passing for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed 14 times for 23 yards and a touchdown, a four-yard scamper late in the second that capped a nine-play, 66 yard drive that gave the Saints a 21-0 advantage going into the half.
Thiel (0-5, 0-3) ran the ball a season-high 52 times on Saturday. Leading the Tomcat rushing effort was freshman tailback
Eric Petrovich (Newbury, Ohio, Notre Dame Cathedral Latin), who toted the ball a career-high 37 times for 73 yards.

Kyle Turkalj (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) had his most effective day as a Tomcat, catching six passes for 54 yards. Sophomore wide receiver
Tyler DeJong (Columbiana, Ohio, Columbiana) and Petrovich each added a pair of grabs.
Defensively the Saints were led by Nick Gramke, who totaled nine tackles, including a tackle for loss. Tyler Owens added seven tackles and a pair of tackles for loss.
The Tomcat defense was paced by senior safety
Bryan Villegas (Spring Hill, Fla., Springstead), who recorded a season-high 10 tackles. Sophomore linebacker
Ethan Ludwig (East Liverpool, Ohio, East Liverpool) was credited with a career-best nine tackles, including a sack.
The Tomcats return to action on Saturday, October 16 against PAC rival Bethany College at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
