ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Thiel College women's volleyball team improved its record to 9-8 after a win over Nazareth College on Friday in Rochester, N.Y.

After losing the first set 25-18, the Tomcats won three straight sets: 25-21, 25-20 and 25-19.

Sophomore middle hitter Kelly Barzak (Warren, OH, Howland) led the Tomcat offense with 17 kills and senior setter Madison Chylik (Valley View, Ohio, Cuyahoga Heights) added 19 assists. 

Defensively, freshman libero Jenna Samsa (Rittman, Ohio, Wadsworth) had 22 digs for the Blue and Gold and the team recorded 18 blocks.

The Tomcats will continue play in the Purple and Gold Invitational tonight against Geneseo State.
