LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 27, 2009) -- The Thiel College men's cross country team finished fourth at Saturday's Saint Vincent Invitational, while the women ended things at tenth.
On a day where all nine men who ran for Thiel finished with season best times, freshman wunderkind,
Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) set the tone finishing eighth after running a personal best 26:54.
Sophomore runner,
Brendan DuLaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) (New Windsor, Md/Westminster) continued his steady improvement by tallying a personal best (27:26) for the third consecutive meet finishing at 19th. A
lex Bent (Oak Hill, Va./Westfield) and
Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) rounded things out for the Tomcats finishing 27th and 31st, respectively.
The women were led by sophomore runner,
Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin) (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin), who finished the race 33rd with a time of 21:32, while senior
Rebecca Walton (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and sophomore
Tara Sturey (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) (Cochranton/Cochranton) ended things at 68th and 74th, respectively.
Both the men and women's cross country teams return to action Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. for the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg Invitational.
