Volleyball wins fifth consecutive match at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 7, 2009) -- The Thiel College volleyball team won its fifth match in a row Wednesday night as they swept the Bethany Bison, 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-19). With a record of 14-7 and a 5-1 mark in Presidents' Athletic Conference play, Thiel has now matched its overall and league win totals of a season ago.

Megg Andrews (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) led the offense with 10 kills, while Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) had nine along with 17 digs.

Danielle Dwyer (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) and Stephanie Shipley (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) notched 16 and 18 digs, respectively.

Madison Chylik (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) led the team with 32 assists. Thiel combined for 10 service aces.
