LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 31, 2009) – For the second-consecutive season, the Thiel College men's cross country team earned a second place finish against championship-eligible teams at the 2009 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship. In claiming the runners up position, Thiel once again tied the programs best finish.
The Tomcat men were led by freshman
Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), who earned 10th place, individually, with a time of 28:12 on the eight-kilometer course.
Sophomore
Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) (18th/28:42), junior
Alex Bent (Oak Hill, VA/Westfield) (Oak Hill, Va./Westfield) (21st/28:52), and sophomore
Brendan Dulaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) (22/29:07) all earned top 25 finishes.
The balance of the men's scoring contingent – sophomore
Sam Slaven (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) (27th/29:51), junior
Bryan Montozzi (Stoneboro, Pa./Lakeview) (Stoneboro, Pa./Lakeview) (28th/29:52), and senior
Ben Moran (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) (30th/30:04) – finished in the event's top 30.
Grove City won the team championship in what was a field of eight teams.
