GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2009) – The Thiel College volleyball team made quick work of Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Grove City Tuesday night.
Literally.
The Tomcats', 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-16), victory over their in-county rivals took a brisk 1:09 to complete, raising Thiel's record to 21-10 on the season, including a 9-6 mark in conference play.
Grove City falls to 7-21 (4-9 PAC) with the loss.
Sophomore
Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) and freshman
Alyssa Chine (North Jackson, Ohio/Jackson-Milton) powered the efficient Thiel offense with 13 kills apiece.
Junior setter
Madison Chylik (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) also had a solid outing, notching 32 assists and 15 digs in the match.
Senior OH
Abbey Kiger (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) chipped in a five kill night, in what was a great outing for Thiel's all-time kills leader.
Thiel returns to action on Thursday when they host Washington & Jefferson at 7 p.m.
