BETHANY, W.Va. (Sept. 10, 2008) – The Thiel College volleyball team won its Presidents' Athletic Conference opener Wednesday night, downing Bethany College, 3-1 (25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 25-18) at the Johnson Recreation Center.

Freshman outside hitter Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) headlined the victorious effort, firing 13 kills and coming up with 18 digs to notch a double-double.  Junior Abbey Kiger (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) also reached double digits in kills with 10.

Sophomore setter Madison Chylik (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) helped out with a team-high 31 assists, while staking claim to six kills of her own.

Thiel (4-5; 1-0 PAC) resumes its season on Saturday when they welcome Chatham University and Thomas More College for the Thiel Tri-match.
