Thiel splits final matches before PACs

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Thiel College volleyball team split its final weekend of the regular season as it prepares to host a first round Presidents' Athletic Conference playoff game on Tuesday. Thiel fell to PAC rival Thomas More, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-14), and prevailed over non-conference Rockwood, 3-1 (19-25, 25-6, 25-17, 25-18).
In Thiel's win over Rockwood, Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) put forth an outstanding effort compiling a double-double with 16 kills and 23 digs. She also fired five service aces.
Madison Chilyk set up 32 assists and Abbey Kiger (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) piped 12 kills to help out in the victorious affair.
In the loss to Thomas More, Kiger led Thiel with 10 kills, while three Tomcats compiled double-digit digs. Danielle Dwyer (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) and Stephanie Shipley (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) each had 19 and Kay came up with 11.
