PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2008) – The Thiel College volleyball team breezed by the Chatham Cougars, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-15), at the Athletic and Fitness Center on Tuesday evening in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.

With the win, Thiel improved to 13-13 on the season including an 8-4 mark in the PAC.

Junior Abbey Kiger (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) and freshman Sarah Weikart (Washingtonville, Ohio/Leetonia) (Washingtonville, Ohio/Leetonia) teamed up to spark the Tomcat offense by firing 12 and seven kills, respectively.

Sophomore setter Madison Chylik (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) (Valley View, Ohio/Cuyahoga Heights) notched 31 assists in the victorious effort.

Defensively, sophomore Danielle Dwyer (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) paced Thiel with 10 digs.  She also registered two aces on the night.

Thiel returns to action on Oct. 23 when it hosts Geneva at 7 p.m.
