Jeff Arneson

Jeff Arneson was named Thiel's second head men's lacrosse coach on July 28, 2011 after serving as an assistant coach for one season. He enters his seventh season as Thiel's head coach, and eighth season overall in 2017-18.
 
Under Arneson, the 2013 Tomcats had the best season in the program's history, as the team set then program records for wins in a season (7), longest win streak (4) and most goals in a game (22). In 2014, the team set a new program records for wins in a season (8) and tied the record that the team set in 2013 for goals in a game (22). The 2014 the Tomcats also made it to the PAC Championship Game while Arneson won PAC Coach of the Year honors. In 2015, the team set a new program for wins in a season (10). In 2016, the Tomcats tied the program records in a season (10) and set a new record for most goals in a game (25). In 2017, the Tomcats once again tied the program record for wins in a season (10) and reached the ORLC Championship Tournament semifinals.

He joined the Tomcat coaching staff in 2010 as the team’s first-ever assistant under former head coach Shem Johnston-Bloom. He served as the offensive coordinator and goalies coach, helping lead the team to its first win in the opening game of the season.  

Prior to his arrival at Thiel, Arneson was a four-year member of the Wheeling Jesuit lacrosse team. As a senior, he was third on his team in goals (18) and added 10 assists. After his collegiate career, Arneson played on a USA travel team that competed in Europe, finishing with a perfect 7-0 record.

Arneson was a standout lacrosse player at Wilmington High School, earning all-state honors. He was a two-year captain and was named his team’s MVP after tallying 23 points during his senior season.

A 2010 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit, Arneson holds a bachelor's degree in business administration.
