A native of Conneaut Lake, he graduated from Conneaut Lake High School. Ryan attended Slippery Rock, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics. While at Slippery Rock, he competed on the men's golf team.
Ryan has been a PGA professional for over 25 years, he started his career as an Assistant Golf Professional at Greenville Country Club.
Upon leaving leaving Greenville Country Club, Ryan moved to Florida to work at the Sanctuary Golf Club on Sanibel Island and played in several mini-tour events. After one season, Ryan was offered a position at Valley Brook Country Club in Pittsburgh where he was an assistant for four years.
After leaving Valley Brook, Ryan continued training and education on golf mechanics with Tech Teaching Company GolfTEC and had stints at the Country Club of Meadville as an assistant, and Erie Golf Club as a Head Golf Professional.
Ryan is currently the Director of Golf at both Oakland Beach Golf Club in Conneaut Lake and Pine Hill Golf Course in Greenville. He also owns and operates Fore Seasons Indoor Golf in Adamsville.
Ryan resides in Conneaut Lake with his wife Tawnya, sons Davis and Zachary, and dog Webster. In his down time, he enjoys playing basketball with his children, spending time on wave runners, and taking Webster on side by side rides.Â
