  • Promoted to Men's assistant coach in 2024 after initially serving as a volunteer assistant
  • Has served as the goalkeeper's coach at Hickory High School for the nine years
  • Earned the prestigious National Goalkeeping Diploma through United Soccer Coaches in the summer of 2026
  • United Soccer Coaches Level 1 and Level 2 goalkeeper certifications

Phil George enters his fifth year on the Thiel Men's staff and first on the Thiel Women's staff in 2026. George initially joined the Tomcats as a volunteer assistant before being promoted to assistant coach in 2024.

  • Mentored keeper Bryce Stefanowicz as he ended the season with a 7-6-2 mark, making him the first ever goalkeeper in program history with a winning record
