Chris Rubino

While pursuing his MSPA at Thiel College, Rubino will be assisting the Thiel College Women’s Basketball Team as a Student Volunteer Coach, primarily working with power forwards and centers.

Before joining the Tomcats, Rubino graduated from Allegheny College with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Spanish, where he was a proud member of the Honors Program and graduated Cum Laude.

During his time at Allegheny, Chris also excelled on the football field as a defensive lineman. He was a student-athlete representative for Allegheny’s football team at PAC Media Day (2022). He earned Second Team All-NCAC (2021) as a sophomore and All-PAC Honorable Mention (2022) honors as a junior, and was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week (Sept. 24, 2022). In 20 career games, he racked up 103 tackles, including 47 solo, and 11.5 tackles for a loss.

After medically retiring from football following his junior year, Chris transitioned into coaching and served as a student assistant for the Allegheny College Women’s Basketball Team during the 2023–2024 season. In this role, he worked closely with power forwards and centers, helping the Gators secure and host their first home postseason playoff game since 2016.
