Thiel College Athletics

Anthony Kobak was named the head coach of Thiel College men’s and women’s tennis teams in December of 2023. He served as interim head coach of both programs since August of 2023.

Kobak has an extensive club tennis background and is a Certified Tennis Instructor with the Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA).

Kobak was appointed as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) women’s tennis representative to the NCAA Region V Regional Advisory Committee for a three-year term in 2025.

Kobak serves as the President of the Trumbull County Tennis Association (TCTA) supporting the local tennis community in the greater Youngstown, Ohio area. TCTA hosts tennis tournaments and socials for members and area youth, awards college scholarships to high school seniors and promotes interclub play between local clubs and adult groups.

Kobak is also a United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned Tournament Director for USTA Middle States and established Thiel College as a USTA Member Organization.

In the off-season, Kobak teaches tennis and pickleball at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown. He is currently pursuing a pickleball coaching certification through the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR).
