Taylor Hall will serve as Thiel’s tight ends coach in 2019.
Hall has served in a variety of different coaching roles. Most recently he coached defensive backs at Albright College. He was part of a staff in 2017 that led the Albright Lions to an 8-3 record and a spot in the MAC-Centennial Bowl Series.
Prior to his time at Albright, Hall spent the 2016 season at Princeton as a defensive quality control coach. He helped the team’s defense lead the Ivy League in points allowed, rushing yards allowed and forced turnovers.
Hall also spent two seasons as an assistant at Morrisville State College. He coached the team’s wide receivers in 2015 and the team’s safeties in 2014. In 2015, he coached an all-conference wide receiver. In 2014, Morrisville State College went 9-2, won the conference title and a bowl game.
Hall was a quarterback for Army for two seasons where he studied geospatial information science with a track in mechanical engineering.
Taylor is the son of Leamon Hall, a successful Army quarterback in the 1970s, who went on to play professionally in the USFL, NFL and CFL. He is also the grandson of Homer Smith, who was the head coach at Army, Davidson and the University of Pacific. Smith also served as an offensive coordinator at UCLA, Alabama, Arizona and Air Force.
