Mateo Renteria enters his second season as Thiel’s quarterbacks coach in 2025.
Renteria was instrumental in leading the 2024 Tomcats’ passing game to the fourth highest completion percentage (66.7) in the PAC as starting QB Daniel Rennie set the single-season program record in the category (66.8).
Renteria was a four-year starting QB at Wooster. He holds the career program record in total yards gained (10,614), passing yards (10,083), touchdown passes (78), completions (770) and passing attempts (1,270). He sits in the top five in numerous other career, season and game statistical categories.
Renteria was a two-time All-NCAC selection, making the first team in 2019 and garnering honorable mention status in 2021.
