Coach Brian Warning begins his first season as a full time assistant coach with the Tomcat baseball program this season. He is no stranger in Greenville, having served as a student assistant coach during the 2010 and 2011 seasons and being a member of back to back Presidents Athletic Conference runner-up teams in 2008 and 2009. Coach Warning will be involved in all aspects of the program but will work primarily in preparing the pitching staff throughout the season. He also will play a key role in academic monitoring in addition to serving as the student employment coordinator for the athletic department on campus.
During his time as a student assistant, Warning was involved in all aspects of the program including on and off campus recruitment of student athletes, practice and game planning, and offensive and defensive statistical compilation. He served as bullpen coach on gamedays and also served as the first base coach during JV contests. He feels that his time in the Tomcat program will serve him well as he transitions into his new position.
Warning has also been very active as a summer coach and camp instructor. He has worked the Thiel College winter baseball camps over the past four seasons, the Hillard Darby High School summer baseball camp, and was also fortunate enough to work a selection event for the All American Foundation, which is a national summer team sponsored by Bobby Valentine in an effort to find the best players from across the country at the 16 and 17 year old age levels. He has also coached extensively on the summer travel baseball circut, working with the Olentangy Baseball Club in 2010 and the Ohio Elite Baseball organization in 2011.
Warning graduated in May with his bachelor's degree, majoring in business administration while minoring in coaching.
