GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel College women's basketball team dropped a competitive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match-up to Westminster College 71-65 on Maenpa Court in Beeghly Gymnasium Wednesday evening.
Thiel falls to 1-8 in the conference (6-12 overall), as Westminster picks up their fourth PAC win (7-11 overall).
Hot out the gate, Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) collected her first steal of the game to give Thiel the first basket and the 2-0 lead.
The Blue and Gold went on to a nine-point run to force Westminster into a timeout with 5:30 remaining in the first.
The Titans took their time to regroup and take the lead from Thiel to end the quarter 21-16.
The teams traded baskets throughout the second half, but Westminster consistently kept Thiel at an arm's length, leading by as many as 10 points in the 2nd and 13 in the 3rd quarter.
The Tomcats made a late surge in the fourth, outscoring Westminster 21-16 in the final period, but the Titans made key buckets and free throws to preserve the win.
Green collected her third double-double of the 2025-26 season, dropping 19 points and a game-high 11 assists.
On the defensive end, Caitlin Stephens (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) grabbed nine boards, 11 all together, and collected a double-double by putting up12 points.
Junior Kelsey Seddon (Cochranton, Pa./Lakeview) contributed to the Tomcat offense with nine points, going 4-for-8 from the field.
Thiel returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 as they travel to Waynesburg, Pa. face the Yellow Jackets at 1 p.m.
