GREENVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 28) -- The Thiel College Men's Basketball team dropped a 73-58 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) North Division clash with Westminster College Wednesday evening on Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats dip to 4-13 (1-8) while the Titans rise to 12-6 (7-2).
Anthony Henderson II (Miramar, Fla./Somerset Academy) led Thiel with 13 points on 6-of-10 and 1-of-1 from deep to go with four boards and a steal.
Das Sanders (Dallas, Texas/Fort Worth Christian) pitched in 12 points on 5-of-14 to go with seven rebounds.
Zech Lilly (Madison Heights, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) snared a game-best eight boards and a had a career-best three blocks to go with 4 points.
Kadenne Kemp (Inglewood, Cali./Northgate (Pa.)) added 7 points and rebounds each while
John DiCecco (Indianapolis, Ind./Lebanon) added 7 points and three boards.
Adrian Llamo (Naples, Fla./Naples) also had 7 points while going 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. In his first game back from injury,
Khamari Accursio-Harris (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) contributed 6 points.
A Sanders first-half layup kickstarted a 7-1 Tomcats spurt that got Thiel within 1 at 26-25 on a Llamo free throw. A Sanders jumper knotted things at 34 before a Westminster buzzer-beater long jumper gave the visitors a 36-34 advantage at the half.
Westminster opened things in the second half with a 12-0 run to pull ahead 61-44 at the 10:08 mark as they cruised to the victory.
Thiel is back in action Saturday for a 3 p.m. PAC interdivisional tilt at Waynesburg.
