GREENVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 30) -- The Thiel College Women's Tennis team fell 6-1 to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC)-foe Waynesburg University Tuesday evening at Tomcat Tennis Courts.
The Tomcats fall to 0-8 (0-6) while the Yellow Jackets rise to 5-5 (1-4) and collect their first PAC win since the 2020-21 season.
Mila Brdar (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport) split the first two sets with Julia Luzar at No. 2 singles 7-6 and 4-6, forcing a 10-point, win-by-2 tiebreak set. Brdar came out on top 14-12 in the dramatic tiebreak set to score her first victory of the season.
Alivia Fallon (Mount Pleasant, Pa./M.T. Pleasant) had a strong showing at No. 3 singles as she took two games in set one and three in set two.
Megan Harding (Sharon, Pa./Sharon),
Chloe Walton (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) and
Sydney Green (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) each took games at No's. 1, 4 and 6 singles, respectively, but all fell in straight sets.
The duos of Harding/Brdar, Fallon/Walton and
Makayla Flock (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem)/
Emmalea Zummo (Jeannette, Pa./Jeannette) all won games at each match in doubles action.
The Tomcats return to action Friday at 3 p.m. versus Geneva at home.
