PITTSBURGH (Aug. 29) -- The Thiel College Women's Soccer team fell 4-0 at La Roche to open the 2025 season in non-conference play from Baierl Athletic Complex in Pittsburgh.
The Tomcats fall to 0-1 while the Red Hawks rise to 1-0.
Brianna Hollandsworth (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) got the start in goal for the Tomcats and made seven stops in the first 37 minutes before La Roche got on the board. Hollandsworth added one more save in the half to finish with a game-leading eight saves.
The home side added three goals in the second to spell the 4-0 final.
Madison Rodgers (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) played the second half in goal and made four stops.
Imogen deBlois (Hubbard, Ohio/Howland) paced Thiel with three shots and two shots on goal.
Abbey Balentine (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) had a pair of shots, one on goal.
Thiel returns to action tomorrow night against Carlow in the home opener at 7:30 p.m. from Alumni Stadium.
