GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel Women's Basketball team fell to Grove City College this afternoon 100-79.
Slippery Rock native, Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian), came out hot in the first half scoring 16 points to lead the Tomcat offense, while grabbing three rebounds and two steals.
At the half Thiel went 9-10 from the free throw line and was able to lead the fourth quarter to closen the score.
Green had another standout performance adding a total of 24 points, three steals, and five rebounds to her tally. She went 5-7 from the free throw line and played 30+ minutes.
Freshman Kayley Risser (Reynolds, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) put up 11 points, dished out three assists and grabbed three steals.
Catherine Kelly (Butler, Pa./Moniteau) (5), Lyndzee Amory (Edinboro, Pa./Saegertown) (7) and Giovanna Castro (Frisco, Texas/Heritage) (5) led the team in rebounds to help make a total of 38.
Kelly, Castro, and Maddy Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Berkshire) each put up 8 points as well.
Grove City's offense was led by four players; Jaden Davinsizer (15), Clara Hannon (11). Sarah Pifer (11), and Emma Ulmer (10).
Hannon grabbed a team high seven rebounds and dished put five assists.
Thiel is back in action Wednesday, January 8 when they travel to Washington & Jefferson to take on the Presidents. The PAC match-up will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's team at 8:00 p.m.
