BRADFORD, Pa. (Jan. 16) -- The Thiel College wrestling team dropped a non-conference dual with the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 32-21 Thursday evening at KOA Arena.
The Tomcats drop to 0-2 on the year while the Panthers rise to 6-9.
Dreyvin Livingston (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) notched a 19-2 technical fall over Cade Stern at 133 pounds to tie things at 5. Livingston has picked up wins in back-to-back duals as he moves to 2-0 on the year. He logged a pin (2:17) over Washington and Jefferson College's Josh Smith last Friday.
After a trio of Panthers pins at 141, 149 and 157,
Dominic Hartman (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) posted a 15-2 major decision over Mamady Traore to make it 23-9. Hartman has won in consecutive duals and improves to 3-2 on the year.
Logan Groover (Springboro, Pa./Conneaut Area) picked up his first collegiate pin (0:31) and victory at 184 against Braxton Caldwell. In his first collegiate action,
Dwayne Simpkins (Hopesville, Va./Prince George) posted a pin (2:53) at 197 over Alex Kapacs.
The Tomcats return to action next Wednesday for a road dual at PAC foe Waynesburg University.
