TRAFFORD, Pa. (Jan. 15) -- Thiel College fall-sport athletes set a new school record by placing 64 student-athletes on the Fall Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
The PAC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during their semester of competition. Sports included in the PAC Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2024 semester are: men's cross country (MXC), women's cross country (WXC), football (FB), men's soccer (MSOC), women's soccer (WSOC), women's tennis (WTEN) and women's volleyball (WVB).
Football led the way for Thiel with 20 players selected while women's volleyball was not far behind with 15. Men's soccer placed 10 while women's soccer had nine honorees. Women's tennis had four representatives while men's and women's cross country each had three student-athletes make the list.
Thiel has increased its number of student-athletes on the Academic Honor each fall since 2019 when 40 Tomcats made the cut. In 2021, 52 made the list while 58 were honored in 2022 and 61 were recognized in 2023. The PAC combined its Fall and Spring Academic Honor Roll's in 2020-21.
