GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College cheer team is gearing up for the upcoming National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate National Championship, held April 11-13 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Randall Burnett M.A.'22, the Tomcats were National Champions in 2023 following a runner-up finish in 2022. Burnett, along with assistant coach McKenna Mizer, the Tomcats will look to repeat as National Champions for the first time in program history.
This year, Thiel will compete against nine other schools in the Spirit Rally Open Division.
"This is by far one of the strongest teams I have had the privilege to coach", Burnett said. "As they prepare for their most impressive routine yet, the team is excited and eager to showcase their skills, and represent Thiel College with immense pride."
The Tomcats are looking to bring home the coveted golden megaphone trophy for the second year in a row.
Varsity TV will provide a live stream, for those with a paid membership, of the national competition.
