KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team lost a non-conference game on the road Saturday to the Keuka Wolves, 16-8.
Thiel took an early 2-0 lead on goals from
Bennett Medyn (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra Macedon) and
Zach Melin (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) 26 seconds apart, but the Wolves scored four straight goals to close out the first period and went on to lead 10-2 at halftime.
Melin (3G, 1A) and
Pat Hartnett (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) (2G, 2A) led the Tomcats with four points apiece. Medyn scored two goals.
Chase Lawler (Etters, Pa./Red Land) scored a goal and contributed six caused turnovers.
Alex Andreozzi (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) picked up four ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Devon Gerhardt led the Wolves with nine points (4G, 5A). Brandon MacDonell scored six goals.
Jason Masciantonio (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made 14 saves for Thiel. Dylan Hoad made 13 saves for Keuka.
The Tomcats will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday to face the Medaille Mavericks. The non-conference game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
