MEADVILLE, Pa. – The sixth-seeded Thiel College men's basketball team lost to the second-seeded Allegheny Gators on the road in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament semifinal game Thursday, 106-66.
The Gators shot 58 percent from the field while the Tomcats shot just 32 percent. The Gators also outshot the Tomcats from three-point range, shooting 58 percent (18-31) compared to the Tomcats' 36 percent (5-14).
Thiel was led by freshman guard
Elijah Harden (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic), who tallied a team-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds.
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) recorded 10 points and six boards while
Beni Lavodrama (Washington, D.C./Phelps ACE) recorded eight points and three boards.
In his final game for the Tomcats, graduate forward
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, giving him his 32
nd career double-double. Tejumola finished his Tomcat career with the 10
th most points (1,108) and third most rebounds (872) in program history.
Allegheny was led by Andre Wilder, who recorded 28 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Lang tallied 22 points while Caden Hinckley recorded 21 points.
The Tomcats finished the season 13-12, and 11-9 in PAC play. With the win, Allegheny will face Chatham in the PAC Championship Tournament title game on Saturday.
