Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team defeated the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 96-78, Tuesday night.
The Tomcats opened up a 21-11 lead heading into the first media timeout. The Tomcats held a 54-35 advantage at halftime, shooting 60% from the field and 83% from the charity stripe. The Tomcats would hold onto the lead for the remainder of the game.
The Tomcats had five players record double-digit points. Graduate forward
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) recorded his third consecutive double-double, giving him eight for the season. He recorded 18 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. Freshman guard
Elijah Harden (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) recorded 17 points, including going 9-10 from the free-throw line.
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) and
Ethan Barnes (Boynton Beach, Fla./Suncoast) each recorded 16 points, and
Rayshod Hooper (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances Academy) recorded 14 points to go along with nine boards.
For the Bearcats, Mike Iuzzolino recorded a game-high 22 points. Jaden Gales recorded 18 points, and Shemar Bennett recorded 12 points and a team-high six rebounds.
The Tomcats return to action on Thursday when they travel to Grove City for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
