DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Thiel College women's soccer team beat the Defiance Yellow Jackets, 4-0, Saturday afternoon.
The Tomcats would get on the board less than ten minutes into the game through junior
Katie Aaron (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) and would not look back. Freshman
Tessa Allison (Akron, Ohio/Field) would double the Tomcats lead in the 39
th minute. The Tomcats would lead 2-0 at the halftime break. In the second half, the Tomcats would add to their lead with goals from
Skylar Garlick (Fort Loudon, Pa./James Buchanan) and
Bailey Fritz (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) in the 60
th and 89
th minutes, respectively. In net, senior
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) recorded two saves and a clean sheet in her first win of the season.
For the Yellow Jackets, Hallie Webb and Melissa Bixler led the team with two shots a piece. In net, Makenzie Trosen recorded ten saves in the loss.
The Tomcats are back in action when they travel to Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday night to open Presidents' Athletic Conference play. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
