GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference battle to the La Roche Redhawks, 2-1, on Thursday.
The Redhawks would score two first half goals in a three minute-span, which would prove to be too much for the Tomcats to overcome.
For the Tomcats, senior
Arlene Barreto (Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat Memorial) notched the Tomcats only goal of the game in the 85
th minute. Freshman
Tessa Allison (Akron, Ohio/Field) recorded an assist. Barreto and senior
Kelly Clark (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) led the Tomcats with three shots a piece. In net, senior
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) recorded five saves in her first start of the season.
For the Redhawks, Alexandra Mecchia and Alexis Nudd each recorded a goal. Goalkeeper Julianna Hornikel recorded five saves in the win.
The Tomcats are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to John Carroll University for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
