GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team competed in an individuals-only event at the Grove City Invitational Saturday.
In singles play, senior
Natalie Zgurich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) defeated Mount Union's Emma Thornton 7-6, 6-0. Zgurich also defeated Grove City's Logan Fuss 6-0, 6-2. Junior
Jordan Zee (Conneaut, Ohio/Edgewood) defeated Mount Union's Jenna Hinkle 6-2, 6-2. Senior
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) defeated Mount Union's Marissa Scobee 8-4. Sophomore
Emily Peters (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna) defeated Alfred's Claire Lander 6-2, 6-0. Peters was narrowly defeated, 8-7, by Grove City's Ally Gaines.
In doubles play, Peters and Hayne were narrowly defeated, 8-7, by Clarion's Savannah Buttery and Alyson Fisher.
The Tomcats return to Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Saint Vincent on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
