GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup to the Washington and Jefferson Presidents, 85-53, Saturday afternoon.
The Tomcats held tough in the first quarter, but a second quarter surge by the Presidents proved too much for the Tomcats to overcome.
For the Tomcats,
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) led the team with 23 points and seven rebounds. She also went 11-11 from the free-throw line. She also led the team with three assists.
Giana Arnese (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale) and
Shayla Foster (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) recorded six points apiece.
For the Presidents, Meghan Dryburgh led the team with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Victoria Koeck and Adalynn Cherry each recorded 11 points.
The Tomcats return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Waynesburg for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
