GREENVILLE, Pa. –
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) helped lead the Thiel College women's tennis team to a 9-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win Tuesday over the Bethany Bison.
Stanley, Thiel's lone senior, was honored prior to the match during senior day. She defeated Kassidy Stevens 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and teamed with
Payton Blankenbeckley (Portsmouth, Ohio/Minford) for an 8-2 win over Jamie Cunningham and Wesley Crockett at second doubles. Blankenbeckley also won 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles over Julianne Latynski.
Natalie Zgurich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles over Crockett and paired with
Sarah Haritos (Wilmington, Del./Concord) for an 8-2 win over Sarah Moore and Stevens. Haritos also won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles over Moore.
Madeline Depalma (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna) and
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) defeated Latynski and Hannah Veronesi 8-0 at No. 3 doubles. Depalma beat Cunningham 6-7(6-8), 6-0, 10-4 at fifth singles while Hayne defeated Veronesi 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
The Tomcats will face the Washington & Jefferson Presidents on the road Wednesday. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at noon.
