NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The sixth-seeded Thiel College men's basketball team lost to the first-seeded Westminster Titans, 101-60 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament semifinal round on Thursday.
The Titans stormed out of the gates and led 21-4 with 12:51 left in the first half. The Titans kept rolling and never let up the lead on their way to a 101-60 victory.
Ny'Lan Hosey (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) led the Tomcats in points with 10 on 4-6 shooting off the bench.
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) notched nine points, six rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal.
Beni Lavodrama (Washington, D.C./Phelps ACE) tallied seven points, five rebounds, and two steals.
John Aarestrup (Miami, Fla./Archbishop Coleman Carroll) finished with six points and four rebounds.
For the Titans, Reese Leone and Daniel Ritter recorded 20 points apiece. Ritter also led the game with six assists. Isaac Stamatiades logged a double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds) with four blocks.
The Tomcats were eliminated from the PAC Championship Tournament. The top-seeded Titans will move on to host the winner of the game between the Grove City Wolverines and Geneva Golden Tornadoes in the PAC Championship game on Saturday.
