Thiel falls to Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College wrestling team lost a 26-12 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual match to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets on Friday.

Thiel started off strong winning two of the first three bouts of the night. Brynen Kisiel (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) picked up a win by forfeit at 125 and Jason Baker (New Alexandria, Pa. /Derry Area) defeated Matt Lascola by decision at 141 to lead 9-3 heading into 149.

Waynesburg won the next five matches with wins coming by pin, two major decisions and two decisions to hold a 23-9 advantage before 197.

At 197, Dylan Proper (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood) cut into Waynesburg's lead defeating Adam Rigney by decision. A 23-12 deficit would be as close to the lead as Thiel would get as Waynesburg's fifth-ranked Rocky McGeary sealed the win for the Yellow Jackets with his win by decision at 285.

The Tomcats will be back in action next Saturday, February 8 when they compete in the John Summa Invite hosted by Baldwin Wallace. The invitational is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
